Aaron Rodgers: Davante Adams' trade request, interest in joining Jets 'out of my hands'

Davante Adams' reported desire is to join Aaron Rodgers in New York. The Gang Green quarterback wouldn't hate to see that wish come to fruition.

"I don't know how much I can say about it because of tampering, but I still have a close friendship with him," Rodgers said Friday from London when asked about Adams. "We spent time in the offseason together. He's a great guy and a great player. The rest of that's out of my hands."

The Jets have long been considered a potential destination if the Raiders were to part ways with Adams. As recent as this summer, on his former big-play teammate, the quotes were nitpicked like a Zapruder film.

In July, Rodgers was talking . Friday, he was talking about watering greens regarding his relationship with Adams.

"The grass is green where you water it," Rodgers said. "There's the fear-mongering that goes along with the adage that 'the grass is not always greener on the other side.' But the grass is greener where you water it. You put the time in, you put intention in, intention into what you're doing, and you can make a special situation out of being anywhere."

Fear-mongering aside, Rodgers' experience with Adams would undoubtedly prove beneficial if the QB and WR hooked up again. In eight seasons in Green Bay together, Rodgers completed 615 passes for 7,517 yards and 68 TDs to Adams. Including playoffs, Rodgers and Adams have connected for 76 touchdowns, tied for fifth-most by any QB-WR duo in NFL history.

That's a lot of watering.
